kanaph
kah-NAHF
wing, edge, hem, corner
Where it comes from
The same word means the wing of a bird and the corner of a garment. To spread your kanaph over someone is to cover them and to claim them at once. Eagles wings here is not about speed. It is about being carried when you could not walk.
