מְנוּחָה
menuchah
meh-noo-KHAH
rest, a resting place
Where it comes from
Menuchah is not sleep. It is the place where you stop — a settled spot, water that is not moving. Sheep will not drink from a running stream, so the shepherd finds still water, which means the rest in this Psalm is arranged rather than stumbled upon.
