סֶלַע
sela
SEH-lah
crag, cliff, rock face
Where it comes from
Sela is the other rock word. Tsur is a mass you stand on; sela is a cliff with clefts you climb into. David hid in them for years before he wrote this, and the word carries the memory of being hunted.
