אֱמֶת
emet
eh-MET
truth, reliability, firmness
Where it comes from
From the same root as emunah. Truth in Hebrew is less about accurate statements than about things that hold — what you can stand on and it will not give way.
Psalm 25:4-5
Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths. Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.
