Judgment, and Bethlehem
The word of the LORD that came to Micah the Morasthite, in the days of Jotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah — overlapping with Isaiah. He preaches to both capitals, Samaria and Jerusalem, and his anger is aimed at people who lie awake devising how to seize other people's fields, and at prophets who preach peace to whoever feeds them. Then he names the village where the ruler of Israel will be born: Bethlehem Ephratah, little among the thousands of Judah. And he reduces the whole law to one question and one answer about doing justly, loving mercy, and walking humbly with God.
