Faith you can actually see
James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, writing to the twelve tribes scattered abroad. It is the most practical book in the New Testament and reads like Proverbs — short, direct, one subject after another with little connecting them. Count it joy when you fall into trials. Ask for wisdom. Do not just hear the word, do it. Do not seat the rich man well and leave the poor man standing. Watch the tongue, which is small and sets a forest on fire. And the line that has been argued over ever since: faith without works is dead.
