How to suffer well
Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, writing to believers scattered across five provinces of Asia Minor and being treated badly for their faith. He does not tell them it will stop. He tells them what they are — a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, lively stones built into a spiritual house — and that they are strangers here, which reframes the whole experience. Then he works through it: submit where you can, answer with meekness anyone who asks about your hope, do not be surprised at the fiery trial. And in the middle, Christ suffering unjustly is held up not as an exception but as the pattern.
