2 Peter

King James Version · 3 chapters · 61 verses · New Testament

Watch who you listen to

Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle, writing near the end of his life and saying so — he knows that shortly he must put off this tabernacle. The letter is a warning about false teachers who will come in quietly, and the second chapter describes them without much politeness. Against them he sets what he saw himself: he was on the mountain and heard the voice, and he says the written word of prophecy is even more sure. The last chapter answers scoffers asking where the promise of His coming is, with the reminder that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years.
