Get the temple finished
Two chapters, four dated messages, delivered in the second year of Darius the king. The exiles have been home for years, the temple foundation is still sitting there unfinished, and everybody has been busy building their own houses. Haggai's question is direct: is it time for you to dwell in your cieled houses, and this house lie waste? He tells them to consider their ways, points out that they have sown much and brought in little, and twenty-three days later the work restarts. Then he encourages the old men disappointed by how small the new temple looks, and promises glory.
