A prophet who argues with God
The burden which Habakkuk the prophet did see. He does not begin by preaching at anyone; he begins by complaining to God about the violence in Judah and asking how long he has to cry before anything is done. God answers that He is raising up the Chaldeans, which is far worse than no answer, and Habakkuk says so. Then he climbs his watchtower and waits to hear what will be said to him. What comes back is a line the New Testament quotes three times: the just shall live by his faith. The book ends in worship with nothing yet fixed.
