About this psalm

Three verses, the shortest kind of humility. David says his heart is not haughty and that he does not concern himself with things too high for him. Then the image the whole psalm exists for: surely I have behaved and quieted myself, as a child that is weaned of his mother: my soul is even as a weaned child. Not a hungry baby. A quiet one, no longer demanding.

My psalms

One verse at a time, slowly

1Lord, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty:neither do I exercise myself in great matters, or in things too high for me.2Surely I have behaved and quieted myself, as a child that is weaned of his mother:my soul is even as a weaned child.3Let Israel hope in the LORD from henceforth and for ever.
