A song of ascents.
The Hebrew title · Berean Standard Bible
Song of Ascents · Penitential
About this psalm
Eight verses from the bottom. Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O LORD. Then the question nobody can survive — If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand? — and its answer: But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared. The waiting in it is compared to men on a night watch waiting for the morning.
