Moses' last words before the river
Israel is camped on the plains of Moab with the Jordan in front of them and Moses about to die. What follows is his farewell to a generation that was too young to remember Egypt. He goes back over the journey, restates the law, and presses one thing hard: remember. Remember what God did, remember what you agreed to, remember when you are prosperous and comfortable and think you managed it yourself. He sets blessing and cursing before them and tells them to choose life. Then he climbs Nebo, sees the land he will not enter, and dies there.
