Taken to Babylon as a young man and trained for the king's service, Daniel and his three friends decide early what they will and will not do, and the rest follows from that. A statue of gold, and three men who will not bow, and a furnace heated seven times. A hand writing on a palace wall during a feast. A law designed to trap a man who prayed three times a day with his windows open, and a night among lions. The second half turns to visions — beasts, kingdoms rising and falling, and one like the Son of man coming with clouds.
