2 Corinthians
King James Version · 13 chapters · 257 verses · New Testament
The most personal letter Paul wrote
Something had gone badly wrong between Paul and this church, and other teachers had arrived to say he was unimpressive in person and not worth listening to. So he defends himself, and does it by listing everything that made him look weak: beatings, shipwrecks, a night and a day in the deep, hunger, cold, and a thorn in the flesh he asked God three times to remove. God's answer was that His strength is made perfect in weakness. In between there is a long passage on giving, prompted by a collection for the saints.
