About this woodcut
An interior with columns and a curtained bed. Delilah sits upright with Samson lying across her lap, asleep. A second figure leans in with the shears. At the right, soldiers are already coming through the doorway, and there is a face at the window.
Solis stages it as a bedroom scene with witnesses. The barber, the soldiers and the watcher at the window are all present at the same moment, so the betrayal is not a secret being kept but a room full of people waiting for a man to wake up. Delilah is looking at the shears, not at Samson.
