About this psalm
A Miktam from the time the Philistines took hold of David in Gath. He is afraid and says so, and then says the sentence that answers it: What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee. Its tenderest line is a picture of God keeping count — put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?
