About this psalm

The title gives the occasion: the Ziphites went to Saul and told him where David was hiding. Seven verses, and the shortest possible shape for a prayer — save me, hear me, for strangers are risen up against me. Then, before anything has happened, he is already thanking God and calling the name good. Behold, God is mine helper.

Read it when you have been given away by people who should have kept quiet.
