38
Psalm 38 · Book One · David
A Psalm of David, for remembrance.
The Hebrew title · Berean Standard Bible
Penitential
About this psalm
A psalm for remembrance, and one of the most physical in the book: no soundness in the flesh, wounds that stink, a heart that pants, sight gone. David ties it to his own sin and does not argue. His friends stand away from his sore, and he answers none of them — I was as a man that heareth not. The last line is bare: Make haste to help me.
