A song of ascents. Of David.

Song of Ascents

About this psalm

Three verses about what unity is actually like, given two pictures that are both about something running down and covering everything: the oil poured on Aaron’s head, going down his beard and to the skirts of his garments, and the dew of Hermon coming down on the mountains of Zion. Both are extravagant. Neither is earned.

Read it when a group of people has finally stopped fighting.

My psalms

One verse at a time, slowly

1Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!2It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard:that went down to the skirts of his garments;3As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion:for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.
