Psalm 115 · Book Five
Hallel
About this psalm
It begins by refusing the credit: Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory. Then it takes idols apart piece by piece — mouths that do not speak, eyes that do not see, ears that do not hear — and delivers the warning underneath the whole psalm: they that make them are like unto them. You become what you worship.
