Psalm 1 · Book One
About this psalm
The Psalter opens by setting two lives side by side and following each to its end. One man keeps clear of the counsel of the ungodly and delights in the law of the LORD; he is planted by the rivers of water. The other is chaff, which the wind driveth away. There is no story here and no crisis — only a fork in the road, described.
Read it when a choice in front of you needs its consequences said out loud.
